Are All YuGiOh Cards In English?

Not all YuGiOh cards are in English, but the ones sold in the United States usually are.

YuGiOh is a creation based in Japan, meaning that many of the YuGiOh cards in English are only available in English speaking countries. That is to say that the original cards, produced in Japan, are in Japanese, rather than having YuGiOh cards in English. If you live and play in the United States, you will be purchasing YuGiOh cards in English, not Japanese, so you don't have to learn a foreign language to play.

Even if you live in the United States, you don't have to use YuGiOh cards in English. Using the Internet, you can locate and purchase cards for the game in other languages, primarily Japanese. This, of course, would require you to be able to read Japanese in order to play with these cards, but it is an option open for exploration.

Many collectors of the game have YuGiOh cards in English, as well as Japanese. Some of the most valuable cards may only be printed in Japanese, though that is rarely the case. Because YuGiOh is such a popular game around the world, the cards come in more languages than just their native Japanese.

If you were to go to the store and purchase cards, you would be getting YuGiOh cards in English. Retailers in the United States probably won't carry cards in Japanese, and if they are, the whole package will be in Japanese, allowing you to differentiate before you make your purchase.

If you don't want YuGiOh cards in English, but would prefer Japanese, you will probably either have to shop for them online, or visit Japan and purchase some while you are there!

YuGiOh cards in English have made the game accessible to the majority of the world. YuGiOh cards in English have the same powers as their Japanese counterparts, and the only difference is the language, even the art is the same!
